WIN Executive Spotlight | Vitafoods Asia 2025
As the nutraceuticals industry prepares to meet in Bangkok this September for Vitafoods Asia 2025, Women in Nutraceuticals is highlighting leaders who are shaping the future. One of those leaders is Lakkana (Lana) Chuvichien, Events Manager at Informa Markets. She has spent more than 15 years in the exhibition industry and the past four years focusing on nutraceuticals. For Lana, exhibitions are not only gatherings. They are platforms that shift industries, build networks, and create opportunities. Her decision to lead Vitafoods Asia grew from her passion for advancing health and wellness while creating spaces for knowledge sharing.
Lana spoke about the challenges that come with leadership. She noted that assumptions about women’s abilities and leadership styles still exist. Her response is to stay grounded and let results speak. She believes that diversity in leadership is not a nice to have. It is required for growth and innovation. In her view, gender equity means ensuring opportunities are based on ability and potential, not gender or background. She sees balanced representation on panels and boards, diverse leadership, and supportive workplace policies as essential steps for helping women thrive.
Mentorship is a central theme in her journey. Lana points to her mother, who raised four children while working full time, as her most important mentor. From her mother, she learned resilience and strength. Lana now works to mentor young professionals in turn. For her, mentorship is about honest dialogue and helping others recognize their own potential.
When reflecting on her career, she shared the advice she would give her younger self. “Trust the journey, even when it feels uncertain. Every challenge brings value, and each small step builds toward something greater.” To young women today, she offers the same encouragement. Pursue ambitions boldly. Seek mentors. Do not fear failure. Growth often comes during times of discomfort, and those moments prepare future leaders to carry both strength and empathy.
Looking ahead, Lana hopes that Vitafoods Asia will be remembered not only as a business and science platform but also as a place of empowerment. She believes women bring creativity, energy, and perspective that fuel innovation in the nutraceuticals industry. She calls on leaders to continue supporting women scientists, entrepreneurs, and decision makers so that the industry grows stronger and more inclusive.
